Welcome to the pre-launch of Whim, the magazine revealing the hopes, dreams, fears, visions and feats of the more than four million African-Americans with a cosmopolitan worldview.

We fill the void in information about this influential and growing group’s political, cultural, social, spiritual, artistic, and economic affairs. We busy ourselves explaining who they are and what they’re thinking about, long before they debut as presidential contenders. And we deliver these insights with a wit, rigor, nuance and style, uniquely befitting their sophisticated intellect.

Whim is creating its organizational structure, raising money and publicizing its future debut. To wit, this blog, featuring our review of our competitor’s best efforts to reach our audience.
